« back to classes page
Have you thought of writing a novel but didn't know where to begin? Or perhaps you've finished a first draft and don't know where to go from there. This class will give you the tools to start your story or create sense out of what you have. Instructional lectures will explore the basics of developing sympathetic, believable characters, creating engaging conflict, and structuring all of this into a full-length page-turner of a story. In-class creative writing exercises and enjoyable homework assignments will reinforce each lesson. These will be reviewed in class in a strictly supportive environment. Students will complete the class with an outline and/or the first chapter of their own novel.
