Celebrate this Valentine’s Day with knowledge and fun at SMC’s beautiful Malibu Campus! Pollinators play a crucial role in agriculture, supporting over 80% of the world's flowering plants, and are vital for healthy ecosystems. Learn about birds, bees, butterflies, moths, bats, beetles and how pesticide use as well as climate change affect these small but mighty creatures. Discover which native plants work best for attracting and supporting pollinators, and how to support these pollinators in your own space. After this informative lecture, attendees will enjoy a festive reception designed to celebrate Valentine’s Day with delicious mocktails, Valentine-themed dessert bites, and photo opportunities with photo backdrops to commemorate this special occasion! In addition, each attendee will receive a blossom kit with a small plant to grow as a keepsake. It’s the perfect way to make lasting memories. Spaces are limited so don’t wait! Get your friends together and mark your calendar! As this event has limited capacity, all cancellations need to be made no later than January 23, 2025 (14 business days prior to the date of the event).
