Art & Myth (Remote Live)

Explore four ancient Greek myths in a class that includes looks at artworks illustrating each myth, and culminates with a private art tour at the Getty Villa. These myths have been told and retold over time, with changes in details and emphasis that say more about the mores of each era than about the actual myths. Find out about ekphrasis — reacting to art by creating new art — and try your hand at poetry, prose, and even sketching to create our own responses to these stories. No prior experience is required; just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm!
