Ekphrasis is the experience of reacting to art by creating new art. In this series of sessions, we will look at art and nature and then create our own artistic responses to what we’ve seen. For each class, you will meet in the classroom and cross over to Legacy Park as a group. You will look at some examples of different types of art, then look for inspiration from nature. Everyone will be able to create their own art following the guidelines provided, and then have a chance to share their creations with each other. No prior experience is required, just come with curiosity and enthusiasm!

Note: This class includes an approximate 5-minute walk to Legacy Park, which is adjacent to the SMC Malibu Campus. There will be 45 minutes of gentle exploration of nature and art, followed by classroom instruction. Suitable for older adults.
